On July 20, 2002 we were around the old Dundas District School taking some photos and noticed a set of steps running up the hillside across the creek. We decided to go to check it out and see where these steps were leading. Just west of the school and over the bridge there is a path, so we followed it looking for the steps and came across this odd looking bench. The bench was interesting to say the least, with strange markings etched deeply into the stone. The location of this man made bench makes no sense at all. Why is it here? As human nature would have it, we just had to go and sit on this bench. NOW this is the really strange part...... When one sits on this bench, which is made of very thick stone, it feels like air escapes and you get the feeling of sitting on a new couch so to speak. When you get up off the bench it has a very slight spring action feel to it. We had some of our friends try this and they all felt the same thing we had experienced...... 
To see the full size image, click on the picture above. Notice the strange markings ecthed into the stone, also the strange feeling one gets, seems to come from the middle of the bench. The back part of the bench seems to be cut into a peak for some strange reason. 
To see the full size image, click on the picture above. In the above photo I tried to make it as simple as possible for one to find this bench. Looking down King Street West in Dundas Ontario, you can see the Dundas School on the right, then you can see the bridge that crosses over the creek and on the same side of the street as the school, a path leads along the side of the creek. Take this path.

As you enter the path you will notice an upper path to the left and a lower path to the right. Take the lower path and follow it for about 20 feet and the bench is located to your left.

This bench is well worth the visit. If you get a chance to see it we are sure you will walk away with a lot of questions in your mind. FACT....The location of this bench makes no sense..... FACT....The bench gives one a sinking feeling when one sits on it.... FACT.....The bench also gives the feeling of a slight spring action when one gets up..... FACT....The markings on the stone that make up this bench are very strange....... FACT....The bench is man made...........
