Pain and sorrow Misery and grief Silently fall Like a withered leaf The empty windows And boarded up doors Are only covers For the open sores Feeling abandoned So lost and afraid Their relatives left them And here they stayed Sanity was tested And so many failed In this shadow Their souls were jailed A plea for help Can sometimes be heard Without a sound Or a single word Open your mind And you will hear What tortured souls Have to fear Being forgotten They silently scream We are here We're not just a dream Cathy Brady November 21/04 Poem 2 Poem 3 |
